U.S. Embassy Hosts Reception for American Violinist Michael Ovrutski in Borjomi

On July 17, 2004, Mrs. Miles, wife of the U.S. Ambassador to Georgia and Mamuka Khazaradze, President of Georgian Glass & Mineral Water Company (GG&MW) hosted a reception in honor of American violinist Michael Ovrutski to mark the final day of the Borjomi Third International Art Festival at the Likani Government Residence. Michael Ovrutski is a young, up-and-coming American violinist who has won numerous international competitions including the Johansen International Competition and the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Albert M. Greenfield Competition. He was invited to the festival by Liana Isakadze, the prominent Georgian violinist and Artistic Director of the Festival. The U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, together with the Georgian Glass & Mineral Water Company (the general sponsor of the music festival) co-sponsored Mr. Ovrutski’s concert and reception.
