Embassy Hosts Reception in Honor of Renowned Georgian Artist

On Thursday, September 30, Deputy Chief of Mission
Patricia Moller and Sharon Miles, spouse of Ambassador Miles, hosted
a reception at the TMS Gallery featuring the art of well-known Georgian
artist Levan Lagidze. Since his graduation from Tbilisi State Academy
of Fine Arts in 1981, Mr. Lagidze has participated in many international
and local exhibitions. His works are kept in museums, galleries,
as well as in private collections in the United States and Europe.
"When Ms. Miles and Ms. Moller came to me with the idea to
have a one-day show of my art works followed by a reception, we
decided to have not just an exhibition but more of a cultural event,
where we, Georgians and foreigners could meet each other, talk about
culture and share our opinions with each other, and I guess we did
it," said Levan Lagidze in an interview with a local newspaper.
The Embassy plans to arrange similar one-day shows promoting other
talented Georgian artists in the future.
