Fulbright Visiting Scholar Organizes A Presentation On Georgia In New York City
On Wednesday, March 14, 2007 a special reception was held at CEC ArtsLink, (New York, NY) in honor of Ambassador Irakli Alasania, Permanent Representative of Georgia in the United Nations. The event was organized by Maka Dvalishvili, Fulbright visiting scholar at Columbia University. The goal of the meeting was to coordinate the relations and programs between Georgian cultural community and the CECAsrtLink. The event included a presentation of Contemporary Georgian Art, Georgian folk songs and tasting of Georgian food and wine. The Georgian Wine House served wine for the presentation. Association “Tvistomi” provided information coverage of the event.
CEC ARTSLINK is an international arts service organization, whose programs encourages and support exchange among visual and performing artists and cultural managers in the United States and in Central Europe, Russia and Eurasia. Since1999, in collaboration with U.S. Embassy in Georgia, CECArtsLink implemented several programs in Georgia. Among those are Arts Management Training programs and a preservation project of the vanishing felt-making craft. The CECArtsLink is a co-founder of the New Orleans Jazz Festival to be held in Tbilisi in April 2007. |
