American Violinist Bin Huang Performs with Caucasian Chamber Orchestra

American violinist Bin Huang will perform with the Caucasian Chamber Orchestra at 7:00 pm on May 24th at the Royal District Theatre. Ms. Huang's performance is part of the Caucasian Chamber Orchestra's master concert series featuring world class musicians. Her visit to Georgia is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy.

The Caucasian Chamber Orchestra is led by German conductor, composer and pianist Uwe Berkemer and features 17 of the Caucasian region’s best string players.

Bin Huang endeared herself to the musical world when at age fourteen she tied with Maxim Vengerov for First Prize in the Junior Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Lublin, Poland. Ms. Huang has been universally lauded for her interpretive and technical skills and hailed as "...a talent that leaves a listener flabbergasted..." (The Sun, Baltimore).

Bin Huang began her violin studies at age four in her hometown of Hunan, China. She came to the United States to earn her Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

Ms. Huang has participated in the renowned Marlboro Music Festival where she worked and performed with the members of the Beaux Arts Trio and the Juilliard and Guarneri Quartets. Her success in other competitions includes the fourth prize in the Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition, the silver medal in the Prague Spring International Music Competition, and the bronze medal in the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition.
