The Public Affairs Section (previously called United States Information Service in Georgia) is part of the United States Embassy here. It is headed by an American Public Affairs Officer and has a staff of one other American and ten Georgians. The office supports the goals and priorities established by the U.S. Embassy. Its role is to inform Georgians about U.S. political, economic, and social institutions, and U.S. policies on all issues of interest to Georgians. The Public Affairs Section also carries out many educational and information programs.
