On August 8-11, the Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Under Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Dr. Emilio Gonzalez will visit Georgia. Director Gonzalez leads an organization of 15,000 employees who process immigration benefits for new immigrants to the United States. This is his first trip to Georgia.
Director Gonzalez is traveling to Georgia at the invitation of Minister of Refugees and Accommodation Giorgi Kheviashvili, and will be meeting with Georgian government officials and observe ongoing training programs being implemented by the U.S Government in Georgia. While in Tbilisi, Director Gonzalez will make courtesy calls on the Minister of Refugees and the Ministry of Interior, and hold meeting with other governmental and non-governmental organizations.
